Supreme Court Rules Cities May Seize Homes

"WASHINGTON - Cities may bulldoze people's homes to make way for shopping malls or other private development, a divided Supreme Court ruled Thursday, giving local governments broad power to seize private property to generate tax revenue."

Where the fuck do I live? No, folks, this is not from The Onion, this is straight offa Yahoo! News.

"In a scathing dissent, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor said the decision bowed to the rich and powerful at the expense of middle-class Americans."

O'Connor and I don't always see eye to eye, but she is right on on this one. I have a clear understanding of the need for businesses (gee, who employs most of us?) but telling people to get the hell out of their homes so Big Ass Builders can put in a health spa is taking it too far. Are they just taunting our forefathers, trying to get them to rise from the grave after years of turning over?

Being a homeowner just got less valuable.
