WE HAVE TOOTH!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have tooth. After one year, eight months and six days of torment, I CAN SEE MY TOOTH. That lone incisor that has been lodged in my gums for the past twenty-whatever years is VISIBLE. Before today, only God and the oral surgeon had seen that tooth. Now I can add myself to the list. When Bill gets home from work, the list will grow. This is only the beginning.

I'll worry about the color issue later. This tooth is going to be like 20 shades whiter than the rest of my teeth.

In other news the new student orientation I went to on Friday was pretty dang cool. The freaking governor showed up for the ribbon cutting ceremony. He arrived in his helicopter which landed in the parking lot right behind where we were all sitting. It was cool as hell. And hot as hell at the same time since we were outside. Is that possible? Anyway, because I happen to like the governor it was extra special. There was also one of our senators there.

I had no idea when I signed up for classes that it was going to be like this. Not just was it a political to-do, but I am so impressed with the faculty I can hardly express it. The dean of the business school is a woman (sweet) and even better than that she is an amazing person. I talked to her for a while and she is my new hero. There's currently a faculty of three teachers for the business department and they are all PhD's. All doctors and specialists in the areas they are teaching. Plus, they're all super nice people that LEFT TENURE to come to this new college and teach. You know they gotta be dedicated to do that.

This is SO not going to be like Wichita State University. This is going to be something special. Ok, this might sound really cheesy, but I feel like I am part of something revolutionary. That by going to this school and learning from these great teachers that I am going to go on and do amazing things. Become the kind of alumni they invite back to give inspirational speeches to incoming freshman and I end up leaving them money in my will from out of my vast estate. I guess you can tell I'm excited!

Regardless of whether or not any of that stuff happens I think this new school is going to be really good for me. Things are slowly starting to fall into place. I'm getting published, my tooth is coming in finally, and I'm going to a great school to finish my degree. I guess good things do come to those who wait.
