They Cost How Much?
Bill and I have been busy with our remodeling project, turning the formal living/dining room into The Tavern. We're still hunting for an electrician (not happy with the first two and the third was a no-show for the estimate). The bar and the pool table should be ready in 3-4 weeks. We've had a hard time with the pub table - we've been shipped two of them and both times UPS beat the living hell out of the boxes and the tables showed up damaged. Good news - we got two beautiful cherry and leather chairs to go with the pub table...if we can get one here unscathed.
Last Saturday we went to a budget fabric store to inquire about getting drapes made. First we were told that the fabrics we picked out were too heavy. Then we were told how much it would cost to have drapes made for two regular windows, a bay window and one big picture-type window. MF!! @$*()#$*)!!! I had a personal stock market crash when I heard the price. The sucky thing is to get the room looking the way we want it, custom drapes are a must. Well, so much for retirement. We're going out today to look at another store. Maybe they will be a little bit cheaper.
