In the News...

This really disturbs me - from Yahoo! News:

LONDON (Reuters) - Nearly half of Britons in a poll said they had never heard of Auschwitz, the Nazi death camp in southern Poland that became a symbol of the Holocaust and the attempted genocide of the Jews.

Guess what, if we forget the mistakes we made yesterday we're going to make them again tomorrow. The Holocaust isn't the only part of history being forgotten.

On a lighter note, this was also in the news today:

Woman Auctions Father's Ghost on eBay

HOBART, Ind. - A woman's effort to assuage her 6-year-old son's fears of his grandfather's ghost by selling it on eBay has drawn more than 34 bids with a top offer of $78.

The whole story is at http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=519&ncid=757&e=10&u=/ap/20041204/ap_on_re_us/ghost_auction.

I'll buy that for a dollar. Just what do you do with his ghost once you buy it? What if his ghost really did go to the highest bidder? Poor guy. He could end up anywhere.
