It's Over!
I crawled across the NaNo finish line today at 7:14pm EST with 50,061 words per the official NaNo count. It was a long, hard journey this year. This was the first time I finished on the last day. It's also the shortest NaNo novel. Last year's was 56,422 and the year before that 62,396. At this rate, next year I won't finish. EGADS!
This year's book was brought to you by my husband, who rode my ass the whole time. "Did you get your word count in today?" "You'd better get further ahead than that." Wah, wah, wah, bitch, bitch, bitch. You'd think it was HIS NaNo novel. But it was effective. He made me get my word count in before he would take me out to dinner. Or make coffee. Or...anyway, you get the picture.
But it's done. The Box is no longer just an idea I had one time, it's a whole book.
